Happening Now in the Garden:
May 20, 2010

This is a busy time of year for Mother Nature. Following yesterday’s massive rainfall, you can just about see everything growing. The battle for plant supremacy is on. I arrived home just past 7 PM and walked around looking to see what new and visually interesting things were happening. It’s limitless. Here are a few of  images taken today in the garden.

Bearded Iris

Calycanthus occidentalis (Spicebush): Apparently native to west coast of US.

Kniphofia uvaria (Torch Lily, Red Hot Poker): Originates from South Africa.
